Abstract

Paper-cut art has a long history and rich and profound cultural connotation. The different expressive styles of Chinese and foreign paper-cut art are mainly due to the differences in geographical location and its characteristics. Paper-cut art not only embodies the fine tradition of advocating simplicity of the nation and has a strong local flavor, but also incorporates modern elements, serving as a lyric poem for artists to express their emotions. Through the analysis of the expressive techniques of Chinese and Western paper-cut art, this paper explores the deep-seated decorative aesthetic characteristics and their development.
