Abstract

American writer Francis Scott Fitzgerald’ s work The Great Gatsby is regarded as the masterpiece of Jazz Age in American literature. As his most influential work, the book focuses on the theme of contemporary social life, expressing the pathos under the American Dream. The essay based on the influence of Jazz Age’ s environment on the traits of persons not only analyzes the main characters but also elaborates the profound subject of realistic significance of American Dream.
